The Oriental Hotels and Resorts group opens up to medical frontliners
In support to the Bayanihan to Heal As One Act of 2020, luxe hospitality chain The Oriental Hotels and Resorts recently announced it is offering free accommodation to working medical frontliners involved in the battle against the COVID-19 pandemic.
The Filipino hotel group is opening its properties star-rated in Albay, Leyte, and Bataan where there have been cases of persons under investigation and monitoring.
“We have opened up all our hotels for free to all working medical frontliners, we have to protect them because they are our first line of defense. I hope other hotel owners will follow suit, the sooner we get all our acts together, the earlier this will all end and the sooner we can all to back to normalcy,” says The Oriental Hotels and Resorts Group chairman Wilbert Lee.

He pointed out that due to the overwhelming number of requests, the hotel management is trying its best to accommodate them as soon as rooms are available.
He added that the hospitality group can also help train other hotels in housing working health personnel and persons which need to be isolated.
“Life comes first before money. Entrepreneurs like myself are blessed so we can be a blessing to more people. I appeal to my fellow hoteliers to join us in protecting our frontliners. This is the true Bayanihan Spirit, a mark of genuine Filipino hospitality,” Lee notes.
Oriental’s Leyte resort, rated 4-star by the Department of Tourism, was opened in 2012, damaged by super typhoon Yolanda in 2013, and was reopened in 2016.
