I have often recommended over on CorporetteMoms that if you’re working in a small place, particularly with kids (and you don’t have a home office), you need at least a secretary desk — you can close it up and not have to worry about people getting into it. When I was looking online recently, I saw some really cool, modern secretary desks with very slim profiles, and I think they could be great if you’ve been working from home and want to upgrade to a better desk without spending a lot or using up too much space.
