Discover the many cheap and free shows, museums, and attractions in Las Vegas.

A trip to Las Vegas does not have to be expensive. If you skip the gambling and luxury experiences, you can find plenty of highly entertaining shows, attractions, and activities which are cheap or free to experience. All you have to do is learn about them.

Below are the top seven things to do in Las Vegas that are either cheap or free to experience.

1) Las Vegas Magic Shows Under $50

You may think tickets to the biggest Las Vegas magic shows must cost $100 or more. However, many of the shows in Vegas with magicians cost under $50 per ticket. These are not bad shows because many feature skilled performers with a long reputation in the entertainment industry.

Criss Angel’s Mindfreak is the perfect example because Criss Angel is a top-selling magician who has been a favorite for decades. The current minimum price for a Criss Angel’s Mindfreak ticket is $48. That is a reasonable price considering the high level of innovative lighting, sound, video, and pyro technologies utilized during Criss Angel’s performances in the Criss Angel Theater at the Planet Hollywood Hotel.

Some other notable and cheap magic shows in Las Vegas include House of Magic at $28, Mac King Comedy Magic Show at $31, Farrell Dillon – Hilarious Magic at $18, Murray the Magician at $31, and The Magic of Jen Kramer at $32.

2) The STRAT Tower Observation Deck

How would you like to see picturesque 360-degree views of Las Vegas for only $20? The STRAT Tower Observation Deck is a nearly 1,149-foot tall tower overlooking the Las Vegas Strip. Going up approximately 869 feet high into the building, you’ll reach the 360-degree observation deck overlooking the Strip and other faraway locations. It is one of the tallest structures to view the city from above.

If you’re willing to spend extra money, you could experience any of the three thrill rides at the STRAT Tower. These thrill rides will cast you into the air and dangle you over the edge from hundreds of feet above the ground. Hopefully, you’re not afraid of heights.

3) Ethel M. Chocolate Factory

The Ethel M. Chocolate Factory offers the ultimate free chocolate experience to the public. You can take a free self-guided tour through the unique viewing aisle of the chocolate factory, giving you clear views of the various chocolate makers and machines developing the next batch of premium Ethel M. Chocolates. You’ll see them hard at work in the kitchen, creating delicious chocolates with fillings containing peanut butter, caramels, and satin cremes.

If you don’t mind shelling out a few dollars, you could purchase some Ethel M. Chocolates from their gift shop. They are all high-quality, fresh chocolates without any artificial preservatives in them. The choices include chocolate bars, dark chocolate, milk chocolate, pecan brittle, treats, chocolate boxes, and more.

4) Comedy Clubs

Las Vegas has several comedy clubs with new and seasoned standup comedians joking about various topics. You may be surprised that many Las Vegas comedy clubs have a ticket price of under $40. These comedy clubs include Las Vegas Live Comedy Club at $34, LA Comedy Club at $25, Jimmy Kimmel’s Comedy Club at $16, and Delirious Comedy Club at $28.

Each comedy club has a different lineup of comedians each week. So the best thing to do is try out each comedy club to find the one with the funniest and most entertaining comedians. 5) Shark Reef Aquarium

The Shark Reef Aquarium at the Mandalay Bay Hotel offers a stunning display of over 100 sharks and 2,000 marine animals inside a massive 1.6-million-gallon water tank. Aquatic enthusiasts and marine wildlife lovers will enjoy walking through the Shark Reef Aquarium and observing all the interesting species from the ocean.

It costs less than $30 per adult and child to gain admittance to the Shark Reef Aquarium. The best part of the experience is the walkthrough water tunnel, which offers 270-degree views of aquatic life from right to left. It’ll make you feel like you’re actually underneath the water with all these exotic marine animals.

6) Bellagio Fountains

The Bellagio Hotel has a beautiful series of fountains inside an 8.5-acre manufactured lake in front of its building. With over 1,200 water nozzles and illuminating lights, the Bellagio Fountains perform free shows every 15 to 30 minutes between 8 PM and midnight each night. Each show features water erupting more than 460 feet into the air in a well-choreographed setup, with different music playing in the background each time.

Some people take multiple trips to the Bellagio Fountains because of the beauty and romantic essence of the water shows. So if you happen to be walking on the Las Vegas Strip between 8 PM and midnight, stop by the Bellagio Hotel to witness the fountains for yourself.

7) The Mirage Volcano

Another free attraction on the Las Vegas Strip is the Mirage Hotel’s manufactured volcano outside its building. The Mirage Volcano erupts fire and flames into the air for everyone to see. The eruptions are synchronized with music from Mickey Hart of the Grateful Dead band. The combination of the music and volcanic explosions is definitely worth checking out.

The volcano eruption times are usually every hour from 7 PM to 11 PM each night. Of course, the times may change due to high winds and other unforeseen circumstances. Since it is a free show which attracts large crowds, it is good to get there at least 15 to 20 minutes before the next eruption begins.

Now you see how to have a budget-friendly trip to Las Vegas. Rather than wasting money on gambling and expensive hotels, you can have an even better trip by experiencing free and cheap shows, museums, and attractions.
